- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup water
- 1 pepper habanero, jalapenos, red pepper or 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes, OR use hot honey
Heat all ingredients on the stove on medium-low heat for 3-4 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to steep for 5 minutes.
Strain and place into an airtight jar.
Store in fridge for up to two weeks.
Tips & Tricks
- Wear gloves when touching the peppers to ensure that the spicy membrane doesn't get on your skin. Be sure not to touch your eyes or any open skin until your hands have been washed thoroughly.
- Don't boil the mixture. Just keep to a simmer.
