Hot Honey Butter Recipe (Spicy Compound Butter)

This Hot Honey Butter Recipe will bring an exciting kick to any dish in just 5 minutes! Three ingredients get whipped together to create a fluffy, sweet, and fiery spread that can be slathered on warm biscuits or melted over hot corn on the cob. Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoon salted butter softened
  • 2-3 tablespoon hot honey store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a medium size bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer.
    8 tablespoon salted butter, 2-3 tablespoon hot honey, 2 tablespoon milk
  • Beat ingredients together on low speed for 1 minute until combined. Increase speed to medium and beat for 3-4 minutes until fluffy.

Notes

Tips & Tricks
  • Make sure butter is room temperature before mixing. When pressed gently the butter should leave an imprint with just a touch of resistance towards the middle. If the butter is too cold it won't incorporate with the other ingredients. 
  • To increase spiciness level mix butter with a bit of cayenne pepper, red chili pepper flakes, or your favorite hot sauce.
  • Start beating the butter on low before increasing the speed to medium in order to keep it in the bowl.
 
Storage
  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Allow the butter to come to room temperature before serving. 
  • To freeze roll into a log shape and cover tightly with plastic wrap or wax paper. Place inside a freezer bag and store for up to 6 months. Allow butter to come to room temperature before serving. In a pinch, you can slice off a pat of the frozen lag and it will soften quickly.
