Why this recipe is great
- Delicious but also quick and easy: getting a recipe that is not only delicious but has no chopping or any minutes of prep at all is really rare.
- Versatile side dish: In the summer serve with grilled or smoked meat, in the cooler months serve with classic like pot roast, but also the perfect corn recipe on your Thanksgiving menu served alongside ham and turkey.
- No cream cheese: While we love cream cheese in cheesecakes and on bagels, but it doesn't have a place in this recipe. it overrides the hot honey so we prefer it in other things.
Hot honey skillet corn ingredients
Just 4 simple ingredients to a delicious side dish is all you need.

- Corn: Frozen sweet corn is best. We love white corn for its exceptional tenderness and sweetness, but standard sweet corn is great as well.
- Hot honey: You have a few different options here. either use store-bought spicy honey or make a homemade hot honey (our preference for superior flavor) or use regular honey and add in some red pepper flakes.
- Butter: Salted butter is our go-to for all things. If you are using regular butter, just add in an extra pinch of salt.
- Salt: Use your favorite salt. Ours os always kosher salt.
How to make hot honey skillet corn

Begin by melting butter over medium to medium-high heat in a heavy bottomed pan (our favorite is a 12-inch cast iron skillet). You are looking for it to melt, but not to brown.

Add in the corn and salt. Stir occasionally for 8-10 minutes or until the corn softens.

Add in the spicy honey (or the honey with red chili flakes) and stir for two more minutes allowing the honey to pull out the natural sweetness of the corn.
Hint: Our favorite hot honey recipe is almost always on hand in the pantry, but if it isn't we really like Savannah Bee or for extra hot Mike's is good.
Can I use fresh corn?
Totally! You can use fresh corn - just cut the kernels off the cob and measure out about 4 cups. It might need a few extra minutes on the stove to get nice and tender, but it'll work great!

FAQs
Adjusting the heat is super simple. Want it spicier? Just add a pinch of cayenne or some red chili flakes. Prefer it milder? Skip the hot honey and go with regular honey instead. You can totally make it your own.
Allow the corn to cool to room temperature, and then place it in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Tips & tricks
- Don't let the butter brown in step one. As soon as the butter is melted, stir in the corn and salt.
- Use your favorite hot honey for the best flavor.
- Use a heavy bottomed skillet to help keep the corn from burning.
