Raspberry lemonade ingredients

This recipe requires only 2 ingredients! Be sure to choose good quality items to ensure a delicious end product.

Container of lemonade and package of fresh raspberries on counter.
  • Lemonade: When using store-bought, I use Simply Brand. But this recipe is equally delicious with homemade lemonade (using fresh lemon juice, cold water, and sugar).
  • Fresh or frozen raspberries: The key here is to choose sweet, highly flavorful fruit. If you're making this during prime berry season, chances are the fresh raspberries will be best. Otherwise, frozen is a good option.

How to make easy raspberry lemonade recipe

  1. Pour the lemonade into a large pitcher. If you're using homemade, start by making it fully and allowing it to cool.
  2. Add the raspberries directly to the pitcher, then use an immersion blender to blend everything together until no large chunks remain.
  3. Now this part is key - let it sit for at least 5 minutes to allow all the flavors to infuse. You can leave it even up to overnight in the fridge. After it has infused, pour it through a metal sieve to strain out the chunks if desired.

Hint: A standard blender is a good option as well.

Variations

  • For the BEST flavor, try this homemade lemonade concentrate.
  • Substitute with limeade for a different flavor profile.
  • Add a splash of lemon lime soda to make it sparkling.
  • Add an ounce of vodka to make a fun summer cocktail.
  • Add a few fresh lemon slices or zest for a pretty finish.
  • Add fresh mint for extra refreshing pop on a hot day!

How to store lemonade

Store raspberry lemonade in a sealed pitcher for 5-7 days in the refrigerator. I suggest stirring it before serving since the fruit likes to settle at the bottom of the pitcher.

FAQ

Do I need to thaw the raspberries before using?

Yes! Allowing the raspberries to thaw a bit allows the to release their flavor more easily which results in a tasty refreshing beverage.

What does ade mean in lemonade?

According to Vocabulary.com "ade" is used as a suffix for the slang of "sweet drink". Limeade is the other drink that uses the popular term.

Tips and tricks

  • If using fresh raspberries, wash them well before using. If using frozen, allow them to thaw first to release more juices.
  • Adjust to your taste by adding more or less raspberries, or extra fresh lemon juice or zest.
  • Save the bottle of your store bought lemonade. When it's time to strain, you can strain it through a funnel into the bottle, then pour it back into the pitcher to chill and serve.
